Stability in Diet and Reuse of Feeding Trees

In 2009 and 2011, the tamarins’ diet was composed primarily of ripe fruit (60–61 percent; Table 11.2). On average, the tamarins fed in 6.1 fruit trees per day (Table 11.3) and 30–61 percent of all trees were revisited at least once during each study period. In contrast, only 7 of the 50 revisited fruit trees (14 percent) used in 2009 were also visited in 2011.
